cell is the basic unit of structure and function of a living system. It can also be termed as the smallest part in a living organism .These are the basic part of all living things A cell have different parts with different function .
All the organism are composed of one or more than one number of cell. The organism formed off a single cell are called unicellular organism like chlamydomonas and amoeba ,protists , yeast , bacteria and many more. A cell functions as an independent organism in the prokaryotes and the protists ,carrying on all the activities of life . The organism which consist of many cells are called multicellular organism . like man , plants , animals and many more. In multicellular orgnism ,cell is just one of the numerous components units of the body , even in these organism ,all life functions result from the activites of their cell. The human body consist of trillions of cell all with their own specialised function.

A cell in all living system is composed of a semifluid living material called protoplasm. The latter is enclosed in a thin coat known as plasma membrane The plasma membrane has same structure in all cell .The protoplasm always contain the genetic material , either as a naked DNA molecule or as a membrane bound nucleus. The protoplasm surrounding the DNA molecules or nucleus is called cytoplasm .
