Primary Headache :
A primary headache is one that which is not caused by another condition such as head injury or overdose of caffeine .it is the condition itself . The best example of this kind of headache is migraine ,tension headache or stress headache etc.
Secondary Headache :
A secondary headache is one in which the headache is a symptoms of something else like overdose of tea ,coffee (usually caffeine) , head injury or any other thing. The suitable example for this kind of headache is the headache caused by sinus infection or brain tumor etc
Major difference between
[Migraine headache And Cluster headache ]
1. Migraine headache :-
a headache of varying intensity and many times accompanied by nausea , dizziness ,sensitivity to light , sound, odour. etc usually on one side of brain only
• Causes :-
1. Mental conditions like ,stress , depression, excitement , anxiety ,shock or any mental condition can trigger migraine pain.
2. Physical conditions like extensive exercise ,tiredness ,pain in neck ,shoulder or back , lack of sleep , bad posture etc
3. Low blood sugar can also trigger migraine .
4. Hormonal imbalance is also a major cause of migraine in women during menstrual cycle , menopause , pregnancy etc .
• Symptoms :-
1. Severe pain on one side of head .
2. feel like Vomiting .
3. Nausea.
4. Poor concentration in normal activities.
5. Numbness
6. dizziness.
7. Flashing lights , zig zag light patterns , floating dots of light etc
• Prevention & Precaution :-
1. Avoid going in direct light especially sun light
2. Avoid overdose of caffeine.
3. Have proper sleep.
4. Avoid having stress and tension.
5. Eat nutritional food.
6.Try doing meditation.
7. Be hydrated enough as dehydration can also cause migraine.
2. Cluster headache :-
It is also called "Horton's syndrome". In this kind of headache pain is also on one side of head but also accompanied by nasal discharge , red, blood and tearing eyes.
•Cause :-
1. Hypothalamus is responsible
2. Alcohol and smoking also trigger the headache.
3. Family history also involves in it
4. Hormonal changes and menstruation do not have any role in cluster headache .
5. Due to sudden release of Histamine.
6. High altitude can also trigger.
• Symptoms :-
1. Watery eyes.
2. Puffy eyes .
3. redness in eyes.
4. Runny nose.
5. pain in half head.
6. Pain in areas of eyes, neck ,face , shoulder
7. Restlessness.
• Prevention & Precaution :-
1. CT scan , MRI Test etc are done to diagnose the ailment.
2. Surgery are also done .
3. Triptans, Octreotide , Local anesthetics etc are used for the relief.
4. Due to low hours sleep also cluster headache can cause?
5. Due to low nutrition in body.
6. Daily exercise and yoga also helps in improving headache.
